I'll definitely stabilize my midriff piece (something I failed to do in this muslin) and I hadn't considered adjusting the back dart. I might play with that.Miahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13750894357634540767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-772849012153508099.post-24515268050788245212011-02-08T13:05:47.141-05:002011-02-08T13:05:47.141-05:00My midriff piece was too short too, I had blamed i...My midriff piece was too short too, I had blamed it on the other modifications I had made. IMO the shoulders look fine, maybe you should try to pin or baste the seam allowance to see how it looks. Maybe you could make the back darts a little longer? That might help with the bagginess, but take it with a grain of salt because I'm not an expert on fit.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11257107220239855862noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-772849012153508099.post-26246207475131736032011-02-07T22:24:18.700-05:002011-02-07T22:24:18.700-05:00I'm pretty new to competent sewing too, but I ...I'm pretty new to competent sewing too, but I think the midriff's flipping may be helped by the stabilizing fabric Casey had mentioned for the final piece. Mine was doing the same up top, but seemed to settle better when I didn't fight the blousing.seekshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09768364078866351164noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-772849012153508099.post-11653294686493551992011-02-07T19:57:56.655-05:002011-02-07T19:57:56.655-05:00I think you've done a great job of it. I'm going to make a 2nd complete muslin I think before I go digging into my fashion fabric.Miahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13750894357634540767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-772849012153508099.post-71964249406257547122011-02-07T10:27:40.758-05:002011-02-07T10:27:40.758-05:00I hear you on the midriff piece. It seems to fit well, at least from the photos. Good job!Vintage Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00427588530532828527noreply@blogger.com
